St. Augustine, the aforementioned son, would become one of the most influential theologians of all time and an enduring witness to the power of God's mercy. Over the next 7 days, we'll learn about their relationship and their unique paths to holiness.

    1Witness of FaithMost of us know St. Monica as the devoted mother who never gave up on her wayward son. But in this first chapter, we'll learn about her as a young woman and see how she persevered in faith through the difficulties and challenges of her married life.Day 1
    2Not YetSt. Augustine is often looked to as the prime example of how no sinner is too far from God’s mercy. Today, we’ll look at Augustine’s life before his conversion, and then spend some time reflecting with God.Day 2
    3Closer to TruthToday we’ll follow Augustine as he stumbles through different towns and different faiths, unknowingly being drawn closer to God with each step. We'll also meet the spiritual father who helped him reconcile philosophical thought with Scripture.Day 3
    4Late Have I Loved YouToday we’ll hear Augustine’s description of his conversion from his spiritual work, Confessions. Then, we’ll pray with his humble prayer as we invite God to work in our own hearts. Day 4
    5No Further Earthly DesiresToday, we’ll continue the story by reflecting on St. Monica’s legacy as we hear of two heartbreaks experienced by St. Augustine.Day 5
    6Living for ChristMost of us know St. Augustine through his relationship with his mother and through his writings. Today we’ll zoom into the second half of his life and hear some lesser known stories, including the unconventional way St. Augustine became a priest. Day 6
    7Rest in GodOn this final day of our series, we’ll close with St. Augustine’s legacy, reflecting on a few of his major works, and then we'll pray with the most famous words from his Confessions.Day 7
